About Atelier Marié
This space is for those who believe art should mean something.
Welcome to my art world!
I’m Aniel Marié Putter, the artist behind this creative space.
I’ve taken a winding path back to art, but it has always felt like home.
While I explored other fields, including law and international trade, creativity remained a thread running through everything. I believe art is not just what we make; it is how we see, remember, and respond to the world around us.
My work is rooted in reflection and a love of detail, with a particular focus on watercolour artworks, pen and ink sketches, oil and acrylic paintings and pencil drawings. These mediums allow me to explore atmosphere and emotion in a way that feels both timeless and personal. Over the past six years, I’ve created custom artworks and commissions that capture beloved places, portraits, pets and memories, work that continues to bring me immense joy and purpose.
While I work across most traditional mediums, I’ve found a deep connection to watercolour, often finished with pen or ink for definition and character. I also love creating pencil portraits and acrylic paintings, or oil works when the client’s timeline allows. Each piece is approached with care and collaboration, aiming to reflect the heart of the subject.
Influenced by the softness of the Impressionists, the serenity of nature, the rhythm of classical music and the companionship of animals, I find inspiration in both stillness and movement. Whether I’m sketching the curve of a Roman street, the calm of a familiar view, or the spirit of a cherished pet, my goal is always to evoke feeling.
My art is shaped by personal experiences with grief, joy, gratitude and hope. I believe the ordinary is worth celebrating, and that with the right perspective, even the simplest moments can become extraordinary. Creating is also a spiritual act for me. I believe God gives each of us gifts, and this one is mine. His presence is in every part of my process, guiding the work with purpose and care.
I offer original pieces for those looking for something unique, along with a growing collection of prints, making meaningful art more accessible. I also take on custom commissions for clients who want to honour a memory, tell a story, or give something truly personal.
In a fast-paced world, I hope my art invites you to pause. To feel something. To reflect on your story and the beauty woven through it. Art can transform a space, but even more, it can connect us to what matters most.
Thank you for being here. Whether you’re drawn to expressive detail, inspired by the everyday, or simply looking to bring beauty into your space, I hope you find something that speaks to you.
Artist statement.
Life isn’t always bright or easy. It can feel heavy, quiet, and unclear. But I believe there is meaning and beauty to be found even in those moments. Sometimes, especially in those moments.
My art reflects that belief. It is a way to explore how we process difficulty, how we hold on to hope, and how we find beauty even in stillness.
Much of my work centres on memory, emotion, and the quiet in-between. The pen sketches often live in black and white, grounded in permanence and nostalgia. In some pieces, subtle touches of colour soften the lines, like unexpected moments of joy or clarity. I see art as a kind of therapy. It holds space for what we struggle to express. More than that, it offers the viewer a chance to feel seen and understood.
Art history has shaped how I see the world. I return to it for insight, inspiration, and connection. The past gives us tools to understand the present. It reminds us that we are not alone in what we feel or fear. There is power in knowing others have walked similar paths and left behind stories that still speak.
Through my art, I hope to invite others to notice the small things. A shared glass of wine. A beloved pet’s expression. The quiet comfort of a familiar street. These everyday moments matter. They help us not only survive but truly live. Let art be a companion in that journey. Let it carry your joy, your sorrow, your memories, and your hope.
